Video: This time lapse video shows some of the Emirates aircraft that have travelled over 432 million kilometres since January 2016. This is the equivalent of traversing the globe more than 10,700 times, reports Phil Blizzard in Dubai. A typical week sees the airline operating more than 3,600 flights, with over 96,000 flights operated in the first half of 2016. Emirates is the world’s largest international airline currently serving 154 destinations across 81 countries on six continents operating 252 aircraft.

A practice which poses to the very survival of some of the planet’s most endangered and iconic animals. The Dubai based airline has unveiled its fifth A380 emblazoned with special livery in support of ‘United for Wildlife’ - but this aircraft does not fly. In situ, at the traffic roundabout leading to London Heathrow airport the aircraft is a 1/3 size replica of the real thing. This fascinating video, however, shows the painting of the ‘United for Wildlife’ livery onto a flying version of the Airbus A380.
Video: Dubai World Central (DWC) has welcomed the world’s largest and most powerful aircraft, the Antonov An-225 reports Phil Blizzard, from Dubai. The aircraft named Mriya, which means ‘Dream’ in Ukrainian, made stops in Australia, Turkey and Malaysia before touching down at Dubai’s second airport which is the 20th busiest in the world for international air freight. The visit by the Antonov An-225 was for a short stopover before departing for Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport in Italy.

Video: Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has just received its first Airbus A380. This remarkable time-lapse video features the assembly of the double decker aircrat at the Airbus Finkenwerder facility in Hamburg, Germany. Etihad Airways’ first Airbus A380 will operate on flights between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow from 27 December 2014. The two subsequent deliveries of the A380 in early 2015 will also service the route, making it a triple daily A380 operation. Later in 2015, A380s will operate to Sydney and New York as Etihad Airways receives its fourth and fifth aircraft. The airline has currently 10 of the giant double-decker airliners on firm order.

Created by leading brand consultants Landor Associates in partnership with Etihad Airways, the new livery is inspired by traditional Emirati design patterns, the landscapes of the desert and the geometric shapes found in the modern architecture of Abu Dhabi.
The design pattern is also a key feature of the new cabin interiors being introduced on Etihad Airways’ Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 aircraft, and is being rolled out across the airline’s corporate branding – from advertising to brochures to premium lounges.
