Small Luxury Hotels of the World roars into jubilee year Small Luxury Hotels of the World will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2015

Following another record-breaking year for the business with its highest reported revenue, room nights and Club Members in the business’s history, Small Luxury Hotels of the World is looking forward to a bumper jubilee year.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2015, the luxury hotel company is at the top of its game with exciting hotel openings, new destinations and a brand new arm to the company, ‘Private Residences by SLH’.

To mark this important occasion SLH will bring back, for one year, the beloved hotel directory, which will highlight all 520+ SLH hotels around the world.

According to Paul Kerr, chief executive, SLH: “Last year was a great year for us.

“Our revenue reached just shy of $150 million dollars, representing a year-on-year increase of 11 per cent, with room nights up seven percent.

“The most significant development that we experienced this year was the rise in the number of visitors and bookings via mobile and tablet devices.

“We had over 4.15 million visitors to our site in 2014 and saw a 71 per cent rise in visitors using mobile and a 64 per cent rise in mobile bookings, while reservations through tablets were up 14 per cent year on year.

“Looking ahead, we expect 2015 to be a very strong year.

“We have a lot of celebrating to do for our 25th year, and will soon be revealing a special campaign to mark our silver anniversary; it will involve our Club Members, journalists and our travel trade friends – so stay tuned!”

In 2014, The Club of SLH grew as 49,000 new members joined up to receive benefits on their stays, taking the total membership up to over 370,000 members.

The average expenditure per Club Member stay increased from $950 (in 2013) to $1,007 (in 2014), representing a six per cent increase, while the average length of stay has remained at 2.6 nights.
