Delgado Travel completes successful conversion to Travelport

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, today announces details of the successful completion of the conversion of Delgado Travel to Travelport for its Worldspan global distribution system. Through the multi-year agreement, Travelport’s Worldspan platform has become the preferred GDS, for this leisure-oriented travel agency providing access to travel content including air, hotel, car rental and cruise lines via its Worldspan platform. Based in the U.S. and serving the Latin American market, Delgado Travel is also utilising GlobalWare™, a comprehensive back office accounting system.

Mr. Delgado, president & CEO, Delgado Travel, commented, “We made the decision to move to Travelport based on the functionality and efficiency gains we could realise by utilising the Worldspan platform and GlobalWare’s accounting system. Our agents love the Flex Shopping option of Travelport e-Pricing™ as it returns more expansive itinerary choices with alternate low fare pricing options and reduces search time. “

Added Delgado, “It’s really easy for our agents to search and book hotels directly in Worldspan, rather than calling the hotels to book. This is a real opportunity to gain efficiencies and grow commission opportunities for my business. The team at Travelport did a great job of working with us to ensure we had a smooth transition. We have been very pleased with their work and our decision to choose Travelport was the right move for us.”

According to Scott Hyden, vice president & general manager, U.S. and Canada, Travelport, “We are delighted to deliver smart technology solutions that provide agencies such as Delgado Travel with long term benefits. Our teams worked together to ensure a smooth conversion of nearly 30 locations, which we completed in a matter of weeks. We are thrilled about our new relationship with Delgado Travel and look forward to leveraging our products and services to help in their continued growth.”
