Seychelles Tourism Academy students make their contribution for island’s Festival Kreol
Students of the Seychelles Tourism Academy have come forward to publicly show their support for the 2012 “Festival Kreol.” Second year students of the Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management presented a check of 10,000 rupees to Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, during the closing ceremony of a sensitization workshop.
The money was collected during a Caribbean night organized by the students as part of their practical examination. The Caribbean night was an assessed event where the students were graded on the service, culinary skills, and the knowledge acquired on their Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management Course.
Accepting the 10,000 rupee-check from the students, Minister St.Ange said that it is always “heartening to see young people giving back to a national event. You are an example for the country.” Minister St.Ange said that “the young people of Seychelles will continue to find their place in the “Festival Kreol” calendar of events as he explained that Victoria’s position as the “Creole Capital of the World” is there to stay.”
