High-Speed Rail Authority applauds release of funds for local rail improvements

The California High-Speed Rail Authority today applauded the California Transportation Commission’s approval of the release of Prop 1A funds of $40 million for Caltrain’s advanced signaling system and $61 million for the Central Subway’s extension of light rail.

“The early investment of funds for modernization and improvements to local rail systems is key to delivering a 21st Century Rail Modernization Plan,” said Jeff Morales, CEO of the California High-Speed Rail Authority. “The investments pave the way for electrification and bringing world-class rail to the Peninsula.”
