Monarch Airlines has appointed CarTrawler as its exclusive car rental partner with effect from July 2013.

Monarch Airlines joins a growing list of more than 40 airlines across six continents that use the CarTrawler car rental platform to connect their passengers to car rental.

Through this platform, CarTrawler provides 300 million airline passengers with access to car rental all over the world.

Monarch Airlines is the leading scheduled leisure airline with key bases at Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick and London Luton.

Its fleet of 39 aircraft has an annual capacity of eight million seats to destinations around the Mediterranean, the Canaries and to ski destinations in winter.

CarTrawler provides aviation, travel, hospitality, leisure and consumer brands with a direct connection to over 800 leading and independent car rental agents in over 30,000 airport and city locations across different 174 countries.

Commenting on the announcement CarTrawler chief executive Mike McGearty said: “In 2012, airline ancillary revenue was valued at $27.1 billion.
