Four Seasons Milano pops the cork on new champagne bar

Four Seasons Hotel Milano introduces a new destination for lovers of bubbly and beyond – the Champagne Bar. Laid out in the Hotel’s historic courtyard garden, the stylish bar rewards guests and visitors alike with nose-tickling wines by Pommery, lip-smacking hors d’oeuvres by Executive Chef Sergio Mei, and a beautiful setting for relaxed conversation and conviviality beneath the setting sun and rising stars.

Originally designed in the 15th century by leading Italian landscape architect Paolo Pejrone, the Hotel’s verdant courtyard garden is a magical setting of tulip trees, evergreen shrubs, flowering pitosforo and the like – all immaculately maintained, of course. While the garden has long been used for coffee breaks and cocktails, it only recently was set for its first dinner – a magical evening of wine-drenched fine dining hosted by one of the leading family-owned Champagne houses of France.

And now, the Champagne Bar. Created in collaboration with Pommery, the renowned Reims-based Champagne house whose partnership with Four Seasons Hotel Milano goes back several years, the bar is arrayed with just 22 seats and nothing beyond the quiet of the garden for ambiance. The opening wine list includes Champagne Pommery Apanage Brut, Champagne Pommery Cuvée Louise and Champagne Pommery Springtime Brut.

Chef Mei lends his touch – and taste – to the Champagne Bar as only he can with a daily selection of hors d’oeuvres and snacks prepared from fresh seasonal ingredients. Taken together, it’s a lovely and satisfying scene splendid for intimate conversation, spontaneous celebration, as well as private and special events.
