Yves Gardiol, chief executive, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel; Hans Wiedemann, managing director and delegate of the boardl; and Richard Leuenberger, general manager of the hotel
Badrutt’s Palace Hotel has announced two new senior staff appointments ahead of this coming winter season.
Richard Leuenberger will join the iconic hotel as general manager, tasked with continuing the Grande Dame’s principles of tradition and innovation.
At the same time, Yves Gardiol will take on the role of chief executive, following 12 years as general manager.
The new appointments will lay a solid foundation for the smooth continuation of professional management in light of the managing director and delegate of the board, Hans Wiedemann’s, retirement in January 2018.
Leuenberger will be re-joining the Badrutt’s Palace team following his role as director of food and beverage five years ago.
Having overseen the entire food and beverage service aspect of Badrutt’s Palace for four successful years, Leuenberger accepted a new challenge as executive assistant manager of Aberdeen Marina Club, The Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong, following which he became a general manager.
Leuenberger subsequently moved to his current position as area director of operations, Asia Pacific for the Ritz Carlton.
Commenting on his new appointment, Leuenberger said: “I am very excited to be returning to Switzerland and to the Badrutt’s Palace family.
“I am looking forward to re-immersing myself into the day to day management of this iconic hotel, and upholding the exemplary guest experience, for which is renowned.”
