6 Continents Appoints New VP, Franchise Services

Six Continents Hotels, Inc. (www.sixcontinentshotels.com), the world’s leading global hotel group, has named Timothy Genovese its new vice president of franchise services.
Reporting to Angela Brav, Six Continents Hotels’ senior vice president of franchise operations for North America, Genovese will be responsible for driving property revenue, service, and product quality at the company’s hotels - Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites by Holiday Inn. He will lead a team of over 70 members, which includes regional directors, regional managers and area managers who conduct on-site consultation visits at each of the more than 2,300 hotels and host regional workshops for hotel management staff in an effort to develop revenue streams, improve quality, and enhance guest experience. Genovese will also provide focus and direction for the field operations staff.
“Timothy brings a wealth of hands on hotel operations experience and marketing expertise to the company. His experience on the owned and managed side of our business as well as the Brand side of the franchising model give him a unique perspective and understanding of the hospitality business,” said Brav. “He has shown a number of proven successes throughout his career, including enhancing revenue stream and maximizing brand value to owners. We are delighted to have him join the Six Continents Hotels franchise operations team.”

Before joining Six Continents Hotels, Genovese spent 17 years with Carlson Companies, Radisson Hotels Worldwide, most recently serving as vice president of Radisson Managed Hotels and Resorts. In this role, he managed and directed all aspects of marketing, sales operations and the profitability of each property in his managed hotel portfolio. As well, he ensured successful transitions of new hotels into the division and deployed a transition staff and directed the conversion process to achieve maximum revenues, improved guest services, operational efficiencies and adherence to Radisson brand standards.

Prior to his vice president post with Radisson Managed Hotels and Resorts, Genovese held several leadership roles at the company, including managing director at the Radisson Hotel Boston, where he was honored as General Manager of the Year in 2000 for best overall management, service, market share increase and performance. Genovese was also regional director of sales and marketing for the Midwest, West and East regions of the United States, and a district director for the Northeast and parts of Europe.
