United Expands Winter Schedule and Adds Flights to Cities Like Fort Lauderdale, Orlando & Las Vegas
United today expanded its winter schedule, adding flights to 15 cities including Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Las Vegas. These new flights start January 6 and include: One additional daily roundtrip flight between: Houston and Orlando, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Baltimore and Miami Chicago and Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans and Las Vegas Newark/New York and Orlando and Fort Lauderdale Los Angeles and Las Vegas Two new routes between Newark/New York and Columbia, South Carolina and Chattanooga, Tenn. Three new weekly flights between Houston and Guatemala City, Guatemala and San Salvador, El Salvador, and one new weekly flight between Houston and San Pedro Sula, Honduras
United Resumes Flights to Tel Aviv, Israel from Chicago and Washington D.C.
United today announced plans to resume flights to Tel Aviv, Israel from Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles international airports. This marks the first time United has operated these flights since 2023. United offers more flights to Tel Aviv than any other U.S. airline and will be the only airline operating flights between Tel Aviv and both Chicago and Washington D.C. Flights from Chicago begin Nov. 1 and will operate four times per week, and flights from Washington D.C. begin Nov. 2 and will operate three times per week.
Boeing and WestJet Announce the Airline’s Largest-Ever Order for 67 Airplanes
Boeing and WestJet today announced the Canadian airline is buying 67 more Boeing jets, bringing its firm order book to 123 airplanes as the carrier plans to expand its fleet and domestic and international networks.
Etihad Reports Record Half-Year Profit of AED 1.1 Billion (£228 Million)
Etihad Airways has reported its strongest-ever half-year performance, delivering record profitability and passenger numbers in the first six months of 2025. The results showcase continued momentum in network expansion, operational efficiency, and enhanced customer experience. Profit after tax reached AED 1.1 billion (£228 million), a 32 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was driven by vigorous customer demand, productivity and efficiency gains, and improved yields across both passenger and cargo segments. Total revenue rose by 16 per cent year-on-year, driven by both passenger and cargo revenue (16 per cent and 9 per cent growth respectively).

First Dreamliner with Lufthansa Allegris lands in Frankfurt
Lufthansa welcomes the first Dreamliner with the Allegris cabin in Frankfurt: The Boeing 787-9 with the new interior in all classes landed at Frankfurt Airport from Seattle, WA. Initially, the newest member of the Lufthansa fleet will be used on flights from Frankfurt to Toronto, Canada, starting in mid-October. This year alone, Lufthansa expects up to nine more Boeing 787-9s at its largest hub in Frankfurt — equivalent to one new delivery every two weeks.

Emirates and AGEOP Ricerca lift spirits of young cancer patients
Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has partnered with AGEOP Ricerca to bring moments of joy and comfort to young cancer patients in Bologna. As part of this initiative, 200 backpacks and activity books have been donated to children receiving treatment at the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department of IRCCS Policlinico di Sant’Orsola. AGEOP Ricerca is an independent association that has supported children with cancer and their families since 1982. Young patients from Italy and abroad come to this centre to access therapies that are not readily available in their hometowns. This collaboration reinforces Emirates’ commitment to ‘connecting communities’ by building enduring relationships and making meaningful differences in the destinations it serves.
