Air New Zealand Brings Back 777S From Mojave Desert

After over 700 days of storage in the California desert, Air New Zealand has begun reviving the first of its Boeing 777-300s in preparation for its return to passenger service. This follows the February return of the airline’s first 777-300 to serve as a freight aircraft.

The Qantas Group will train pilots at a new purpose-built centre in Sydney across its current and future fleet including the aircraft that will operate non-stop flights from the east coast of Australia to London and New York. A new multi-million-dollar facility is proposed for St Peters near Sydney Airport and would provide training for up to 4,500 new and current Qantas and Jetstar pilots and cabin crew each year from early 2024.

Southwest Airlines will launch a new self-service tool for TMCs and corporate travel buyers on Aug. 24. The Dallas-based carrier says that the Southwest Business Assist portal will offer its business customers increased automation and service, and will make use of unique dashboards and reports as well as offering automated processing of contractual benefits.
