Gatwick Airport boosts top management as development continues
Gatwick Airport is pleased to announce Willie McGillivray and Derek Hendry have joined the executive management team.
Willie McGillivray joined the executive management team last December as product development director responsible for identifying and developing new products and services that best meet the different customer needs.
Willie’s role is instrumental in helping Gatwick differentiate itself significantly from other airports as it competes to grow and become London’s airport of choice.
Products that are primarily about capital investment will be delivered through a construction function focused on outstanding delivery, led by Derek Hendry in his role as construction director.
Derek joined Gatwick in January 2012 and has responsibility for delivering the £1.2 billion investment programme.
Around £20 million is currently being invested each month to provide the right facilities for passengers and airlines.
Following the change of ownership two years ago, Gatwick has invested around £700 million in the airport.
Stewart Wingate, chief executive of Gatwick Airport said: “I am delighted to welcome both Willie and Derek to the executive management team.
“We have many exciting plans for the airport that will help us achieve our ambition to compete to grow to become London’s airport of choice.
“To do this however, we must differentiate Gatwick from all other airports and put our customers at the heart of everything we do.
“We need to ensure we introduce game-changing products that meet our different customer needs and create the right environment and ambiance to deliver a consistently outstanding customer experience.
“Willie and Derek both have the experience and drive to make that happen.”
