Vitrina Turística de ANATO 2015 welcomes Puerto Rico as official partner


Puerto Rico is the official partner of the 2015 event

The president of the Colombian Association of Travel & Tourism, Paula Cortés Calle, has revealed Puerto Rico will be the official partner of the 2015 Vitrina Turística de ANATO 2015.

Meanwhile Cartagena will be showcased as the domestic partner of the event, which will take place at the International Business & Exhibition Centre in Bogotá from February 25-27th. 

“We share united cultural and historical ties with Puerto Rico,” explained Paula Cortés Calle.

“In addition, visitor arrivals from the island to Colombia have grown from 6,600 in 2012 to 9,000 last year.

“There is also a new air route in operation between San Juan and Bogotá in the pipeline, to be launched the Vitrina Turística this year.

“We will also work hard with travel agents to highlight the tourism product here in Colombia; from the cuisine, shopping and nature, to sun, beaches and golf.”

Cartagena is popular with visitors from both within Colombia and from overseas, with packages offered by many tour operators.

Located in the North part of Colombia in a quiet bay of the Caribbean Sea that gave it its named, Cartagena is the fifth largest city in Colombia.

It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984.

The event, which is the most important for the tourism sector in Colombia each year, will welcome over 900 exhibitors, including representations from 32 countries.
