Shangri-La wins bid for Hung Hom Bay property

Shangri-La wins bid for Hung Hom Bay property

Shangri-La is to build and operate a multi-use complex on Hung Luen Rd at Hung Hom Bay in Hong Kong to include a Traders Hotel as well as retail and leisure facilities.

The announcement followed the official confirmation that Shangri-La won the bid for the land acquisition at a government auction.

The Traders Hotel will be the fourth property for the company in Hong Kong.

The complex includes two podium floors for contemporary retail, lifestyle and entertainment facilities to support the surrounding office and residential buildings. A transport interchange within the building will offer easy access to the surrounding areas including the upcoming cruise terminal in the bay.

The 15-storey hotel will feature 698 guestrooms with a minimum size of 32 square metres; most offering unobstructed Victoria Harbour views.

The hotel facilities will also include three restaurants, a 1,000 square metre health club plus a 50 by 25 metres outdoor swimming pool facing the harbour.

The meeting and banqueting facilities will include a 700-square-metre ballroom.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this prime location on Victoria Harbour,” said Greg Dogan, president of Shangri-La International Hotel Management.

“The area around Hung Hom Bay is going through a redevelopment and with the facilities offered at the new complex we will be able to offer valuable amenities to back the surrounding community.”
