Japan Airlines expands codeshare with Jetstar on Kansai-Cairns Route

Japan Airlines (JAL) will expand its codeshare agreement with Jetstar Airways (JQ) from April 1, 2010, when JAL will place its ‘JL’ indicator on JQ-operated flights between Osaka (Kansai) and Cairns - a once-daily service commencing the same day.

JAL and Jetstar have been bilateral partners since May 2007 and currently codeshare on flights operated by the latter between Tokyo (Narita) and Cairns. Fares issued by JAL for JQ-operated codeshare flights will be for economy class only, inclusive of meals and soft drinks. Alcoholic drinks and additional refreshments will be available for purchase onboard.

JAL currently operates 1 daily flight between Tokyo (Narita) - Brisbane, and 1 daily flight on the Tokyo (Narita) - Sydney route on which the airline’s award-wining seats - the JAL Shell Flat seat in business class and the JAL Sky Shell seat in premium economy, are available.

Reservations and ticket sales of the new codeshare flight start tomorrow.
