Travelport has welcomed John Elieson to the role of chief operating officer. Elieson will be based in Travelport’s global headquarters in Langley, Berkshire, UK.

Travelport has appointed Alistair Rodger to the role of global vice president, agency sales, Europe. Rodger has joined Travelport from Hotelbeds Group, a leading distributor of hotels and ancillaries to the travel trade, where he created and ran the retail division.
As the next step in its continuing support for Qantas’ distribution capabilities, Travelport has begun handling its first bookings with the carrier using IATA’s New Distribution Capability standard.
Travelport will be ready to implement a new booking code for non-binary gender airline passengers when it goes live at the start of June. The company has pledged to make the code available to all of the 480 airlines on its platform who choose to adopt it.
