Air Astana will begin operations to the Maldives twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays from December 5th. There will also be an additional Monday flight from December 21st.
Air Astana will cut a number of flights in the coming weeks on the orders of the ministry of health. The number of flights to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine and Germany will be cut,
Initially twice a week, the frequencies increase to three a week from October 26th on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and will be operated using the new Airbus A321LR.
As the aviation fightback from the coronavirus shutdown continues to gather pace, Air Astana has said it will resume scheduled flights between Almaty and Nur-Sultan starting May 1st.
Air Astana has made a number of flight schedule changes resulting from the global spread of the coronavirus. The action has been taken in accordance with measures introduced by the ministry of health of the republic of Kazakhstan.
Air Astana will launch services between Almaty and India’s commercial centre, Mumbai, on June 1st. Flights will be operated four times a week using Airbus A320, with a sector time of 4.5 hours in each direction.
The flag-carrier of Kazakhstan saw profits rise to US$30 million in 2019, but stated flight restrictions in China could hamper its development this year.
Air Astana has unveiled plans for a new service from Paris to Almaty, with the route set to launch in June. The flights will operate three times a week using the carrier’s new Airbus A321LR, which entered revenue service on the Air Astana network last month.
Air Astana has taken delivery of the first of seven Airbus A321LR (long-range) aircraft under an operating lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation of the United States. The remaining six aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next 12 to 18 months, depending on Airbus’ production capacity in Hamburg.
Air Astana and S7 Airlines have strengthened their cooperation by signing a codeshare agreement for flights between Russia and Kazakhstan. Effective immediately, Air Astana flights from its hubs at Nur-Sultan and Almaty, to Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg now carry the code of S7 Airlines.
