Welcome to Jaleh Spa and Pool at Four Seasons Hotel Baku, Azerbaijan

Four Seasons Hotel Baku, Azerbaijan is set to unveil the first full-service Four Seasons spa and fitness centre in the city this spring.

Highlighted by the sumptuous Jaleh Spa, the complete beauty and wellness offering includes international Spa treatments conducted in ten spa treatment rooms and two authentic hammams, a professional salon, well-equipped fitness centre and stunning indoor atrium pool. Professionally-trained therapists, stylists and trainers will welcome Hotel guests and members of its exclusive new spa and fitness club, as well as local clientele for a true luxury experience in renowned Four Seasons style.

“Our guests are in for a delightful surprise when we open this spring,” predicts Spa Director Shawna Morneau, who leads a highly-trained team that is totally focused on each guest’s personal experience. “Jaleh means ‘morning dew’ in Azeri, and it’s that fresh feeling of renewal and beauty that has informed everything here, from the Spa’s elegantly warm design to our carefully crafted treatment menu.”

Morneau and her team have shopped the world for the finest spa product lines to be featured in treatments, and available for purchase in the Spa Shop. At the centre of the spa menu are treatments created especially for the Jaleh Spa using Swiss Perfection products, which are made by the same family that introduced the famous Swiss-based cellular regenerating brand to the world.

Other brands include Australian-based all-natural Sodashi, which has created several treatments exclusive to the Jaleh Spa; organic Irish brand Voya featuring results-oriented seaweed ingredients; Italian-based Comfort Zone; professional hair products by Kératase; and the facial products currently creating a sensation among the world’s most discerning men, Cor Silver.

Welcome to the Jaleh Spa at Four Seasons

Entered on the 5th floor where guests will find a welcoming reception area, change rooms and steam rooms and the Spa Shop, the 800 square metre (8611 square foot) Jaleh Spa unfolds fully on the penthouse 9th floor.

Designed by Richmond International, the Jaleh Spa is a modern sanctuary with classical architectural features in harmony with the Hotel’s distinctive Beaux Arts look. Soft lighting and sunlight illuminate smooth textures and a warm colour palette, with highlights in marble and glass.

Two deluxe spa suites include the VIP Couples Suite with two treatment tables, a bathtub, and a balcony that suggests a romantic dinner for two after a spa journey taken together. The second deluxe suite, the Signature Suite, opens to a balcony with Caspian views where one can enjoy a post-treatment refreshment and take in the sea air. Eight additional treatment rooms include three that overlook the atrium pool.

Separate men’s and women’s areas include sauna, experience showers, ice fountain and a whirlpool surrounded by heated recliners. The calming relaxation area invites men and women for pre and post-treatment lounging.

The Ultimate Spa Experience: Hammam Rituals

For the very best in Spa experience, Morneau recommends the Traditional Hammam Rituals. Two round, columned hammams envelope guests in another world as they are treated atop a marble pedestal. The traditional ritual begins with cleansing using savon noir, a black eucalyptus and olive soap, and a kessa glove exfoliation. Then, skin is treated to a ghassoul (detoxifying mud) body mask and organic herbal hair treatment before completing the experience with an application of genuine Moroccan argan oil.

“A true hammam experience leaves one cleansed, detoxified, renewed and feeling beautiful,” says Morneau, whose most recent position was in Marrakech. “In addition to the traditional ritual, we’ll also offer a special seaweed detox using Atlantic coast salt and products from Voya; a luxury signature hammam that concludes with a massage; and additional ghassoul treatments in our Rasul Chamber.”

For Body, Face, Hair and Nails, and a Special Treatment Menu Just for Men

The extensive menu at the Jaleh Spa includes carefully created and selected results-oriented treatments featuring the world’s finest spa products. From the weary business traveller needing renewal to the socialite wanting to look and feel her best, the Jaleh Spa offers something for everyone, and the temptation to come back again and again.

A dozen different facials target skin texture, signs of ageing, detoxification and simple indulgence with treatments including the exclusive Swiss Perfection 90 and 120 minute facials. “Swiss Perfection has worked with us to create a bespoke treatment featuring caviar and the most advanced cellular lifting technologies. It’s simply the very best for your skin,” says Morneau.

Massages include the Signature Massage to reduce stress and rejuvenate body and mind using Moroccan argan oil. Others include a hot stone massage, a treatment just for new mothers, a herbal massage featuring seaweed gel, and another focused only on neck, back and shoulders.

In addition to the Traditional Hammam Rituals, the Jaleh Spa will offer a variety of toning, detoxifying, anti-ageing and renewing body treatments, including a luxuriant Vanilla Exfoliation from Sodashi that features active ingredients such as macadamia shells and sandalwood powder to nourish the skin.

An extensive menu of treatments for men includes the Men’s Signature Massage, the Swiss Perfection facial, and the incredible Cor AntiAge Facial, using the highly celebrated Cor Silver soap. Manicures and pedicures given in a private treatment room ensure that men are looking their best for the day’s business meetings in Baku.

At the Salon, professionally trained in-house stylists and technicians will perform hair and nail services, as well as épillyss waxing and spray tanning.

Jaleh Pool and Fitness Centre

Open only to Hotel guests and Club members, the spectacular Mediterranean-style indoor pool is on the 7th floor, with a glass atrium roof soaring up two stories for year-round swimming bathed in natural light. With a few stylish loungers arrayed around the pool and adjacent hydropool, it’s a quiet urban oasis for a select few.

On the third floor, the 211 square metre (2271 square foot) Fitness Centre features state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, with a personal trainer available to assist guests.
