Alamo and National enter Brazilian market

Enterprise Holdings today announced that it is franchising the use of its Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental brands to SaoPaulo based Unidas, a leading Brazilian car rental operator. The 15-year agreement will bring the Alamo and National brands to Unidas’ more than 100 airport and city locations throughout Brazil – and enable both companies to better meet the needs of their respective customers.

The franchise agreement marks Enterprise Holdings’ entry into the Brazilian market and helps the company substantially complete its Latin American footprint.  Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We are very pleased to enter into a partnership with a company like Unidas, which shares our focus on customer service and strategic, sustainable growth,” said Greg Stubblefield, executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Enterprise Holdings. “This doesn’t just mark the opening of a new market for us, it enables us to give our customers travelling in Brazil access to brands they know and trust. And we’re confident that those customers – and our brands – are in good hands with Unidas.”

Under the agreement, Unidas will operate as the National and Alamo franchisee at the company’s more than 100 locations in major cities throughout Brazil. “Not only are National and Alamo customers assured of a high level of service when traveling in Brazil, but Unidas customers also will be introduced to our award-winning and friendly service globally,” Stubblefield noted.

Pedro de Almeida, chief executive officer for Unidas, agreed. “This franchise relationship, which brings together two truly customer-focused companies, gives us one more important way to provide customers with the best rental experience possible, whether they travel to Brazil for business or leisure,” he said. “The addition of these two trusted brands to our current offering positions us even more strongly to continue executing our growth plans all across the Brazilian market.”
