Servisair Luton lounge officially launched

The Servisair Executive Lounge at London Luton Airport has been officially opened, named after ‘The Someries’ a local landmark. The presentation and official opening was attended by representatives from London Luton Airport and Servisair Management.

‘The Someries’ is a new addition to the extensive network of Servisair lounges in the UK, and offers passengers executive lounge facilities on a pay-per-use basis. Visitors to the lounge enjoy complimentary drinks (alcoholic and soft), light refreshments as well as a relaxing environment to wait for their flight. Other facilities include upgraded seating, complimentary newspapers and magazines, internet access and helpful Servisair staff. The lounge has been integrated into the easy-to-use booking website, www.executivelounges.com , where passengers can book access to any Servisair lounges. It also means that existing Annual Membership holders can enjoy access to the lounge at no extra charge.

The launch followed a competition inviting members of the public to suggest names for the lounge with a local emphasis. Following hundreds of entries, ‘The Someries’ was selected, after the local castle close to the airport. The winner, James Hart from Luton, was presented with an Annual Membership worth £250, entitling him and a guest to a year’s unlimited free entry to Servisair’s lounge network.

Julie Renshaw, General Manager of Servisair Lounges, said: “London Luton Airport is a strong addition to our established network of lounges.
“We wanted to officially launch our operations here by naming the executive lounge and were keen that the name emphasised the close connection between the Airport and the surrounding area. The Someries is the perfect choice, reflecting the vibrancy, present day culture and the rich, fascinating past of the local region”

James commented: “As a regular user of London Luton Airport for business trips I was delighted that my name was chosen and that I have been given such a useful prize. It wasn’t too hard to come up with an idea as I am familiar with Someries Castle and my children are members of the Someries Scout Group.”
