New routes from bmi regional

bmi regional has announced it will launch the only air service from Bristol Airport to Corsica.

Starting on June 23rd 2013, the once-weekly flight will operate in partnership with specialist holiday company, Corsican Places and offer flight only and packaged trip options.

This latest new service comes hot on the heels of the recent route launch from Bristol Airport to Verona, Italy which started on May 25th 2013 in conjunction with tour operator Inghams.

bmi regional also serves five European destinations from Bristol in addition to Aberdeen: Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Milan and Munich.

The new services in partnership with two of the UK’s leading holiday companies are part of the airline’s strategy to expand its distribution.

Marking its first anniversary as an independent airline earlier this month, bmi regional operates an all jet fleet of 18 Embraer Aircraft which flew more than ten million miles and carried over 500,000 passengers in the past year.

Cathal O’Connell, chief executive, bmi regional, said: “The airline now has the ability to chart its own course: passenger numbers have increased hugely, our network has grown by 30 per cent and we operate more than 450 scheduled flights a week across a network of 23 destinations in eight European countries.

“Providing new and exciting destinations in partnership with leading tour operators means we can offer even more holiday experiences for our customers.”
