Air France and bmi have announced a brand-new codeshare partnership on bmi’s Bristol to Paris service. Commencing for travel from May 14th, the partnership will provide business and leisure customers from Bristol Airport with access to 25 French cities via Air France’s award-winning hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Breaking Travel News reporter Eleanor Hawkins caught up with bmi regional chief commercial officer, Jochen Schnadt, on a recent trip to Derry as the airline celebrates the fifth anniversary of its independence. On the agenda were future plans for the airline, with a particular focus on what strategies the carrier planned to employ to overcome the potential pitfalls of Brexit.

bmi regional has announced the appointment of Andreas Weingartner as the airline’s new director of sales. Weingartner joins bmi regional from Brussels Airlines, where he was most recently the general manager for central Europe, the Baltics, the Balkans, Russia, Armenia and offline sales.

bmi regional has launched its two brand new routes from Birmingham Airport - to Gothenburg and Nuremberg. The new routes, which will both be operated six times per week, were welcomed to their new hub at Birmingham Airport by a water arch, while the first passengers enjoyed a slice of celebratory cake.

bmi regional has announced the appointment of Martin Whittaker as chief operating officer. Whittaker joins bmi regional from Babcock International Mission Critical Services, where he was a board level executive.

bmi regional has proudly returned to Birmingham with the launch of its new flight to Graz, Austria. It is the only direct flight from the UK to Austria’s second city, exclusive to bmi regional and Birmingham Airport.
