CEO of iLandGuide, Andrew Perenyi is on the last leg of his two week marketing campaign in Barbados. Originally from Hungary, Andrew has been to all corners of the world; Thailand, Miami and most recently Dominican Republic yet, Barbados is the island that now has a piece of his heart. He describes it as the most beautiful island he has ever visited and the experiences he has had are the ones that he will never forget.
While staying in the popular St. Lawrence Gap, perhaps the first thing Andrew will tell you about is his turtle encounters. He swam with them, saw hatchlings running to the water and even witnessed a hawksbill nesting on the beach! When he wasn’t meeting with some of the islands’ top executives, Andrews’ down time was packed with local fun and cuisine. In “the Gap” he enjoyed karaoke, grilled burgers and bbq pork, not to mention dancing and freshly grilled fish at Oistins.
At the Barbados Concorde Experience, he saw the Concorde airplane that once flew from New York to London in one hour! Fried chicken from Pugs restaurant was some of the best he ever tried especially when laced with Bajan Hot Sauce. Trips to the North and East coasts were as scenic as they were refreshing with rocky coastal features at Archer’s Bay and River Bay (both in St. Lucy) as the surfing paradise known as the Soup bowl.
In St. Peter, Andrew visited Farley Hill; the site of Jazz, Reggae and other local festivals, but this time, it was the sound of the ocean that was incredibly captivating. Also in St. Peter, he visited the infamous Cherry Tree Hill where he witnessed gravity defied!
Despite his short trip, Andrew visited several local hotspots and if you’ve never been to any on this list, you can find them in the iLandGuide app when it launches in October.
