Centara resort opens in Thailand

A new Centara resort has opened in Thailand’s Phuket, at Mai Khao Beach. Tomorrow this award winning hotel group will be amongst other nominees at The Asia & Australasia World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony in Thailand.

A number of properties in the Centara portfolio have been nominated by the World Travel Awards, including the Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas Krabi, nominated for Asia’s Leading Beach Resort and the Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa, nominated for Indian Ocean’s Leading New Resort.

The newly opened Centara Grand West Sands Resort and Villas Phuket, located on the west coast of the island at Mai Khao Beach has a special introductory opening offer which applies to all categories of rooms, suites and villas and is valid until 31 October 2011.

Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas Phuket is located on the west coast of Phuket and set in 47 acres of land with 500 metres of pristine beach frontage on Mai Khao Beach, the longest and quietest stretch of beach on the west coast of the island.

The focus of the resort is a huge water park with 12 waterslides, including the Boomerango, the Super Bowl slide and a 225- metre lazy river.

All rooms, suites and villas are carefully sited to take advantage of the stunning views of the Andaman Sea and Phuket’s dramatic hinterland.

Although this part of Phuket is renowned for its extensive areas of natural and undisturbed beauty, the resort is only 15 minutes away from Phuket International Airport.
