Cairo unrest continues

Unrest in Cairo is expected to continue today as anti-government protestors in Tahrir Square have called for a mass demonstration.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has warned that demonstrations could occur in other areas of Cairo, Alexandria and other cities in Egypt.

Brits have been urged to stay away from Tahrir Square and the downtown area of Cairo, with some reports of gas and live ammunition being used.

“There are reports of dangerous forms of gas being used against protesters as well as live ammunition,” it said.

Over 35 people have been killed, mainly in Cairo, and over 1,800 injured in the past week.
