Travelocity Announces Director for a Day Winner

Travelocity
has announced that Peter Craig, from Quincy, Ill., is the winner of its å“Director for a Dayå” contest.  Craig will receive $25,000 along with a Travelocity-sponsored trip to the set of Project Greenlight å- which, too, recently announced winners of its screenplay and directors contests.

Craig’s 30-second “Bus” commercial beat out 70 other entrants. Expert judges included Richard Donner, director of Hollywood films “Lethal Weapon” and “Superman,” Stan Richards, owner of advertising agency The Richards Group, and Mike Malone, creative director for The Richards Group.

“We were pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of entrants,” said Jason Pruismann, director of advertising and promotions, Travelocity. “Not only was Peter’s commercial very creative and humorous, it had a touch of shock value that put it over the top.”

Craig’s commercial was also the favorite of Travelocity visitors who had the opportunity to vote on their favorite spot during the contest.

“It was nice to see that visitors to the Web site also took a liking to the commercial,” Craig said. “I had a great time making the spot and was honored that such highly-regarded industry peers played a part in naming ‘Bus’ the winner.”
