BA572 Diverts To Geneva

8th May 2001

We can confirm that, following a technical problem, the BA572, en route from London Heathrow to Milan (Malpensa airport) has diverted to Geneva.

Passengers were evacuated by slides on landing.

All 91 passengers and seven crew on board the 757 aircraft have been evacuated safely. Nobody was injured.

The fire brigade was in attendance.

Passengers are currently being looked after by British Airways staff at the airport. Arrangements are being made for their onward travel.
