Worldspan cements presence in Latin America

Buenos Aires-based Asatej Group is renewing its travel distribution and technology agreement with Worldspan. Through the new multi-year
agreement, Worldspan will continue to provide Asatej Group travel agencies
with access to the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS), and support
their use of a portfolio of Worldspan solutions for planning and managing
daily business. Asatej was one of the first travel agencies to sign on with
Worldspan when the GDS opened its doors for business in Argentina in 2001.
“Worldspan’s comprehensive GDS and superior solutions have been
critical to our operations and growth over the past several years. Just as
important, Worldspan is a true business partner, extremely service-oriented
and responsive to our ongoing needs. We operate in a climate of rapid
change and are confident Worldspan will continue to enable us to seize new
opportunities and reduce our costs through advanced technology,” said Cesar
Fernandez, general manager at Asatej Group.
“Asatej is a prime example of a travel management company that builds
business and lowers operating costs by adopting the latest technologies. We
are very pleased to renew this exciting partnership as we celebrate our
five- year history of successfully serving travel agencies in Argentina. We
are committed to performing at the highest levels toward Asatej’s ongoing
growth and advancement,” said Michael B. Parks, Worldspan senior vice
president - Global Operations and Latin America Sales and Service.
The Worldspan GDS provides Asatej Group travel agents with access to
approximately 700 travel suppliers around the world, including real-time
schedules, availability and fares for domestic and international carriers,
plus tens of thousands of hotel properties and rental car locations, rail
service and more.
