The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York, proudly announces the promotion of Spiridon Sarantopoulos to Senior Vice President – Operations, Europe and USA for The Indian Hotels Company Limited, reinforcing IHCL’s commitment to developing exceptional leadership talent while advancing its international growth strategy.

This prestigious appointment reflects both Mr. Sarantopoulos’s outstanding leadership and IHCL’s continued investment in nurturing exceptional talent from within its global organisation.

During his tenure at The Pierre, he has led the hotel through a period of remarkable growth, strengthening its position as one of the world’s most iconic luxury destinations while driving innovation, strong commercial performance and an elevated guest experience.

In his expanded leadership role, Mr. Sarantopoulos will oversee IHCL’s luxury hotel portfolio across Europe and the United States, providing strategic leadership across the region while continuing to oversee The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York, alongside St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, London; Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, London; Taj Campton Place, San Francisco; and Taj Hessischer Hof, Frankfurt, which opened on 1 June 2026, reinforcing IHCL’s commitment to exceptional hospitality standards and strategic international expansion.

A highly respected hospitality executive with more than three decades of international luxury hotel experience, Mr. Sarantopoulos will oversee the successful opening and operations of Taj Hessischer Hof, introducing the legendary Taj brand to Germany and establishing a flagship presence in one of Europe’s leading luxury hospitality markets.

The appointment is especially meaningful given Mr. Sarantopoulos’s distinguished leadership career within Germany’s luxury hospitality sector, where his deep market expertise uniquely positions him to guide this landmark expansion.

Before joining IHCL, Mr. Sarantopoulos held several of the industry’s most prestigious leadership positions with Accor and Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts, serving as General Manager of Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof and Grandhotel & Spa Petersberg. He also served as Vice President – Luxury Hotels at Deutsche Hospitality, where he played an instrumental role in shaping the company’s luxury portfolio and driving operational excellence across its flagship properties.
