Saudi have tapped into the hydration break trend by announcing a social competition launching on Instagram, giving UK fans the chance to swap frustrating pitch-side hydration breaks for an unforgettable escape to The Red Sea

As football fans around the world tune into this summer’s World Cup tournament, one recurring feature of the action has become a talking point in its own right: the hydration break.

On Saturday, Saudi, Welcome to Arabia, tapped into the conversation with a real-world take on the trend, giving UK fans the chance to win the ultimate hydration break: return economy flights for two and an unforgettable three-night escape to The EDITION Red Sea Resort, set against the breathtaking marine landscapes of The Red Sea.

The competition launched during Saturday’s England vs. Norway match, led by travel content creator Henry Moores and hosted on Instagram in collaboration with Visit Saudi. Timed to coincide with peak fan engagement during the tournament, it taps into the growing conversation around football’s hydration breaks, positioning The Red Sea as the ultimate refreshment moment when fans need it most.

To enter, fans simply need to tag a friend they would take with them to the Red Sea in the comments of the competition post: https://www.instagram.com/reels/DaqSUcksKMu/

On 14 July, between 8:00-10:00 pm BST, one participant will be selected at random and sent an Instagram DM. The recipient must reply within 3 minutes (the usual hydration break time) to claim the prize. If they don’t respond in time, another participant will be randomly selected.
If the prize remains unclaimed after the second selected participant, the challenge will continue on to 15 July, with another random selection taking place between 8:00-10:00 pm BST.
If no participant responds within the required 3-minute window, the competition may end with no winner.

The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over who hold a valid passport and are eligible to travel during the prize travel period, from 1 August to 15 December 2026. The winner and their guest will receive flights and a three-night stay at The EDITION Red Sea Resort.
