China Eastern hires India attendants

China Eastern Airlines Co Ltd has recruited 16 female flight attendants from India to work on flights between China and New Delhi, the official Xinhua news agency said. The flight attendants, the first from India to be hired by a Chinese ailrine, will start working on China Eastern’s Beijing-Shanghai-New Delhi route from June 3, Xinhua said.

Shanghai-based China Eastern launched direct flights to India in 2002.

The airline has around 100 flight attendants from foreign countries, including Japan and South Korea, Xinhua said.

China Eastern plans to also recruit attendants from Russia and the Philippines, the news agency added, citing a spokesman from the airline.
