Business travellers will soon enjoy high-speed wireless Internet access and news headlines while in airports, thanks to an alliance between Global Digital Media (GDM) and CNN Airport Network.
The alliance outlines a plan for GDM and CNN Airport Network, a private network that distributes television programming to 35 domestic airports, to work together to enhance and make more productive the mobile professional`s travel experience. GDM, developers of the BeCon Network, and CNN Airport Network, a division of Turner Private Networks, Inc. (TPN) and a subsidiary of AOL-Time Warner, will collaborate to enhance existing system infrastructures at airports to provide high-speed wireless access to travellers. GDM plans to upgrade the existing CNN infrastructure at designated airport locations with their network of wireless high-speed public Internet access stations.
