Thailand’s Centara to open first property in China
Centara Resort Zhaoqing is the Thai hospitality group’s first property in China, following the signing of a management contract with the owners, Zhaoqing Yuhao Properties Development Co., Ltd. It is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Kochi Marriott Hotel launches in Kerala
Marriott International has opened the Kochi Marriott Hotel, its fifth hotel under the company’s flagship Marriott Hotels brand in India. This will be the second Marriott International property in the Kochi city and is located amidst the Lulu Mall campus, one of the largest malls in the country. Frasers Hospitality has opened its second property, Fraser Residence Menteng, in Jakarta, adding 128 Gold-standard serviced units to the capital’s business and diplomatic centre. The hospitality arm of the Frasers Centrepoint Group plans to grow its footprint in Indonesia with the opening of another six properties in the nation’s capital by 2017.
Pan Pacific expands China profile with Tianjin hotel
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the opening of the 319-unit Pan Pacific Tianjin in China. The property is the fifth Pan Pacific in China after hotels and serviced suites in Xiamen, Suzhou and Ningbo, marking the extension of the brand footprint along the east coast and into the northern region.
JA Manafaru set for November opening in Maldives
JA Resorts & Hotels, the Dubai-based international hospitality company, will officially launch its fully-owned high-end resort JA Manafaru in the Maldives on November 1st, thereby expanding its presence in the Indian Ocean with a second property. The company took ownership of the property in the Maldives earlier this year, and subsequently made a substantial investment in soft refurbishments and staff training to upgrade the resort to JA Resorts & Hotels standards.

The hotel features 299 contemporary guest rooms and suites, offering panoramic views of the entire city from its floor-to-ceiling windows.
