Travelport, the business services provider operating the Galileo and Worldspan global distribution system (GDS) platforms, today announces that it has signed a new, multi-year agreement with Travel Solutions (previously Galileo Pakistan) to distribute the Worldspan GDS to travel agencies in Pakistan.

The deal builds on a successful partnership between Travelport and Travel Solutions, who currently distribute the Galileo GDS in Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as both the Galileo and Worldspan platforms in Uzbekistan. The restructure follows the expiration of the GDS provider’s previous Worldspan distribution contract in Pakistan at the end of last month.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Travel Solutions will obtain exclusive rights to distribute Worldspan technology and services in Pakistan, providing travel agencies in the country with access to all the travel content available through the reservation system as well as on-going technical infrastructure and support.

In addition to being the distributor of the Galileo and Worldspan GDS in Pakistan, Travel Solutions has an IATA-approved Global Aviation Institute (GAI) and a provider of several global technology services, offering a wide range of value-added products such as travel insurance management systems (TIMS), back office sales systems (Catalyst) and online reservation software.
