Three Britons injured in Tenerife hotel explosion

Three British people were among five injured in an explosion at a poolside hotel bar in the Canary Islands.

The explosion took place at the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje in Tenerife.

Among those hurt were an eight year old girl who suffered neck burns, a woman who had burns on her face and a man with minor burns, according to Spanish officials,

A statement from the local government in Adeje said: “At 4.09 pm on Friday emergency services were called to an explosion in a machine in a poolside bar at a hotel in Playa Paraiso, in the town of Adeje, with several people suffering from burn injuries.

“Emergency resources were immediately mobilised. Fire crews attended to inspect the zone but their intervention was not necessary.”
