Sixt puts out franchise calls as rental giant looks to US expansion

The United States franchise unit of Sixt has confirmed it will launch an initiative to expand its network into the country.

This is part of a wider effort on the part of the German car rental organisation to further internationalise its business.

“Sixt will be adding new franchise partners to facilitate its growth in the United States market.

“Independent car rental operators and local entrepreneurs have a tremendous opportunity to join the Sixt system in the early stages of our US expansion,” commented Craig Olson, vice president of North America Franchise Development for Sixt Franchise USA.

“Bringing the Sixt franchise System to the US is a key component of the company’s global growth strategy.

“Franchisees who join the Sixt system will have opportunities to rapidly grow along with the Sixt brand in the US.”

The Sixt franchise system is a proven international success, with more than 80 master franchisees operating from roughly 1,000 worldwide locations.

In the US, Sixt presently operates corporate branches in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Atlanta and Phoenix.

Sixt plans to further expand in the US with a step by step, measured approach of corporate expansion along with the addition of growth oriented local franchise partners.

The news comes at a time of consolidation for the US market, with Hertz recently completing its take over of rival Dollar Thrifty, prompting concern among consumers prices may rise.
