Nicolas de Santis Leaves Opodo to Join Twelve Stars


Nicolas de Santis, Marketing director of Europeå‘s travel portal, Opodo
, has left to join international business consultancy Twelve Stars Communications as CEO Twelve Stars
, which boasts large clients such as South African Tourism, The European Parliament, Pirelli, Iberdrola Spanish utility and Vivendi Universal `s Houghton Mifflin publishing Group will now have De Santis as their CEO and vice Chairman.

Appointed as Marketing Director by the executive board of Opodo in December 2000, de Santis has been in charge of sales and marketing for the Opodo network of portals in the UK, Germany and France. Under his marketing tenure, Opodo (owned by 9 airlines including BA, Lufthansa and Air France) has become one of Europe`s most successful online business launches ever, becoming the first travel portal in Germany, and one of the top five most visited portals in the UK and France.


Mr De Santis is an Internet veteran having been Chief Marketing Officer of beenz.com, where he was responsible for building the beenz brand into one of the best-known Internet brands, before it was sold off to Carlson Marketing Group.


Previously he was also Vice President of Landor Associates, now part of WPP Group where he worked with multinational brands such as IBM, Coca Cola, Philip Morris, British Airways, Alitalia and SmithKline Beecham among others.
