Marriott International (NYSE:MAR) introduced its first international Fairfield Inn branded property in Mexico on March 14, 2003 under a franchise agreement with Optima Hoteles de Mexico, SA de CV.
The hotel was operating as the Optima Express Monterrey Airport and is located on Avenida Rogelio Gonzalez Caballero, just three minutes from Monterrey’s Apodaca International Airport. It will be officially named the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Monterrey Airport.

Marriott first introduced Fairfield Inn in 1987 and the brand recently opened its 500th hotel, making it one of the world’s largest hotel brands in terms of locations. Positioned in the lower-moderate lodging segment, Fairfield Inn is one of Marriott’s fastest growing brands, opening an average of 33 hotels each year since its launch. The brand expects to add nearly 25 more properties by year-end 2003.

All Fairfield Inn hotels are designed to appeal to value-conscious business and leisure travelers who seek clean, convenient, quality accommodations and consistently friendly hospitality. While all Fairfield Inn hotels are noted for their spacious accommodations, guest services offered by Fairfield Inn hotels are appropriate to the host country.
