New Look for qantas.com

Australia`s most popular travel website, qantas.com, has been given a new look.

Qantas Executive General Manager Sales and Marketing John Borghetti said the changes to the website had been made as part of the airline`s commitment to continually improving its customer services.

“The Qantas website records more than half a million visitors every week and is an important part of our business,” he said.

“It is an invaluable promotional vehicle and interface for customers with an interest in the company and its products and services.

“Qantas.com has become a popular way for customers to purchase tickets on-line and now accounts for about 20 percent of Qantas` domestic ticket sales.”

While it will still provide customers with an easy and accessible way to check flight schedules and book tickets, the new-look website will feature a cleaner and more consistent interface designed to improve usability and make navigation easier.

New features include:
* customer access to alternative fares when red e-deals or global deals are not available * increased alternatives for customers searching for lowest priced itineraries
* an online demonstration of the new Qantas QuickCheck self-service check-in kiosks and an interactive Spirit of Friendship tour, with other new interactive features to follow * Qantas schedules can be downloaded to personal digital assistants (PDAs) such as Palm and Pocket PCs.

Mr Borghetti said the revised site will also include Qantas` first foreign language website, for customers in Germany - qantas.com/de.

“We are very pleased with the changes we have made to qantas.com and look forward to getting feedback from our customers when they next visit the website,” he said.
