Aruba: A Dutch Treat from the Caribbean

For such a small island, this Dutch colony offers a unique combination of white-sand beaches and temperate blue seas on its south and west side, a rugged coastline of caves, rock bridges and dunes to the north and east plus a near-desert interior complete with dunes and cacti!
Aruba boasts two main resorts, Palm Beach and Eagle Beach, with a range of excellent hotels and facilities including 11 casinos, a wide choice of nightclubs and bars, restaurants serving truly cosmopolitan cuisine.  Aruba is one of the best places for wind-surfing, and also boasts watersports galore and a world-class golf course at Tierra del Sol.
As an example of prices, a 14-night stay on room-only basis at the three-sun-plus Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Aruba in Palm Beach is £855 per adult (twin share) for departures between 14-20 May 2003 with return Air 2000 flights from Gatwick.  An all-inclusive stay at the same hotel is from £1625.
First Choice also features four other hotels on the island - on either room-only or all-inclusive basis - and can also offer a number of pre-bookable excursions such as an adventurous full-day Jeep Tour around the entire island at £40 (approx) or a more relaxing half-day cruise (£30) along the coast with snorkelling stops to view shipwrecks and coral formations.
