Another Brand New Aircraft Joins The easyjet Fleet

On Saturday March 13th 1999, easyJet took delivery of G-EZYL, “Yankee Lima”, another brand new Boeing 737-300 which was flown over from the Boeing factory in Seattle, USA.


The arrival of Yankee Lima takes the easyJet fleet size to 15 Boeing 737-300s. Another 7 identical brand new 737-300s will be joining the easyJet fleet direct from Boeing during 1999.


easyJet has signed a binding agreement to take delivery of 15 next generation Boeing 737-700s between October 2000 and February 2003. In addition, easyJet has an option on a further 15 brand new 737-700s from Boeing.


Within the next 5 years, easyJet will be a major European airline flying millions of passengers at the lowest prices in one of the world`s youngest fleets.
