IDeaS rolls out Sol Meliá deal

IDeaS has announced that Sol Meliá‘s global roll-out of IDeaS is continuing on schedule with most facilities in Europe in progress or scheduled and a number of locations in South America are also underway.Additionally, IDeaS will be installed at the first ME Hotel opening in Europe, the ME Madrid, which opened in October.

Along with the adoption of IDeaS V5 ASP solution at locations around the world, Sol Meliá has broadened its adoption with the inclusion of several new IDeaS modules including IDeaS Best Available Rate Module with Rate Shopping support and IDeaS Learning System. The availability of IDeaS specialized modules provides hoteliers with the ability to select IDeaS functionality that ultimately maps to meeting the hoteliers specific performance goals. In addition to IDeaS BAR and Learning System modules other modules include User Defined Cluster Yielding, Multiple Property View, Group Pricing, and Budgeting.

“As we have continued our roll-out, we have been very impressed with both IDeaS development strategies and their ability to deliver new functionality quickly,” said Marc Galbis, Director of the Business Intelligence group for Sol Meliá. “Our teams have been really pleased with the additional insight they are able to gain from the systems and we are looking forward to bringing many of our hotels over as quickly as possible since revenue management in general has been a key area our group has focused on for several years now. Working closely together with IDeaS has been very important for us in order to push forward by using revolutionary technology. IDeaS is our exclusive partner worldwide for providing such technology to Sol Meliá, and their ability to reply to our specific requirements and customize their solution is really outstanding.”

“Sol Meliá is one of the world’s premier hotel chains and their focus on leveraging advanced technologies has allowed IDeaS partnership with them to flourish,” said Uli Pillau, IDeaS Managing Director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. “During our strategic partnership with Sol Meliá for revenue management technology over the past couple of years we have seen the group develop a culture and direction which very few hotel groups have today. Sol Meliá and IDeaS together are pursuing several new areas of product development opportunities which would benefit both companies and hopefully the industry at large specifically related to resorts and wholesale functionality.”
