Lufthansa wants 750 staff for Munich

Lufthansa in Munich has launched a new recruitment drive in order to meet
requirements at its hub in Southern Germany.Over the next few months, the German
flag carrier will need 750 new staff for its operational area. This number includes
500 flight attendants, 250 staff for the check-in area and further customer care
services. “The growth achieved by Lufthansa at its southern hub exceeds our
expectations. That is why we urgently need more staff on the ground and on board,”
says Karl Ulrich Garnadt, Lufthansa Group Representative and Head of Hub Management
at Munich.

Terminal 2 has reported record results thanks to new aircraft, new destinations and
higher passenger load factors. In September alone, Lufthansa handled 2.2 million
passengers, about ten per cent more than in September 2005. The busiest day recorded
so far this year was 25 September, when a total of 82,000 passengers passed through
the terminal. Altogether, the Lufthansa Group now employs 7,300 staff in Munich.

The first training courses for the 500 flight attendants currently required will
begin in January. The company is planning 22 specialist courses, each lasting nine
weeks. Lufthansa offers a range of attractive working time schemes, such as seasonal
contracts. In addition, flexible working hour schemes are possible in customer
services. Recruitment for this area will also continue during the winter.
