Flight Centre plans expansion

Travel retailer Flight Centre UK is continuing its expansion
on the high street with plans to reach 100 stores by June 2007.Currently the retailer has 90 locations throughout the UK from Glasgow
and
Edinburgh down to Bristol, with the most recent new store openings in
the
Strand and in Camden in London.

Flight Centre is looking at opening 10 stores between now and June next
year and new locations over the next few months will include Hove,
Gloucester and Worcester.

Chris Galanty, managing director of Flight Centre UK said: “We’ve been
expanding on the high street since we entered the UK market with our
first
store in Putney, London just over ten years ago.

“While we are also improving our online offering, there is definitely a
gap for a long haul specialist with a visible high street presence.
Customers want to be able to talk through complicated itineraries to
far-flung destinations with an expert face to face.

“After initially focusing on London, Flight Centre’s expansion has seen
it
open new stores in a number of regional locations in recent years,
including Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton.

Mr. Galanty said regional expansion would continue as the company
continued to develop its presence in the UK market.

“In addition to improving our offering to our customers, this expansion
will create up to 100 new jobs,” adds Mr. Galanty.
