Meridian unveils Ensenada development

Meridian Development Group has announced plans for a landmark project that will bring a 16-acre oceanfront resort and marina, rich with amenities and just an hour’s drive from the international border at Tijuana to the city of Ensenada. Located on the edge of Todos Santos Bay in the northern part of the Baja California port city, “Porto Hussong” is the result of a shared vision and partnership of MDG and the famed Hussong family of Ensenada. The development will feature 200 ocean-front condominiums, a five-star 46-suite boutique hotel, private villas, “Club Meridian” luxury fractional residence club, upscale boutiques and restaurants and a state-of-the-art marina to accommodate yachts up to 200’ in length.

Already fully-funded by outside sources and equity from other MDG properties, Porto Hussong will be a resort and residential enclave unique to the region for vacation getaways or retirement living. An 8,800 square foot retail area will include art galleries, bakery and market and specialty boutique shops featuring clothing, jewelry, books, pottery and leather goods. Amenities will include a fitness center, pool, spa facilities, tennis courts, bicycle pathways and access to sport fishing, kayaking and other ocean-related activities.

When complete, the Porto Hussong Marina will accommodate up to 250 yachts ranging in size from 40 to over 200 feet. The complex will offer a full range of quality facilities and services not currently available in the Ensenada area. Services will include charter fishing and diving, charter sailboats, boat rental, ferries, water taxis, fuel, security and yacht services, including sales, brokerage, delivery and management assistance.

“Porto Hussong will be a luxury destination that serves as a stepping stone to the Baja experience,” says MDG CEO Chris Merson. “We already have 90 buyers lined up just based on renderings,” he says.
