Worldwide Hotel Chain First to Offer Air, Car and Hotel Booking on Its Web

MENLO PARK, Calif., PRNewswire - GetThere, a Sabre company, and
the leading provider of Internet-based business-to-business travel procurement
systems, today announced that Hyatt Hotels Corporation is implementing
GetThere`s technology to let travelers book flights and car rentals through www.hyatt.com as they make their hotel reservations for Hyatt properties on www.hyatt.com.
It is GetThere`s first booking site for a hotel, complementing the company`s position as the leading provider of booking technology for airline Web sites.
When initiating the trip planning process, many travelers prefer to
research and secure a hotel room before committing to air and car reservations. The Hyatt site will enable a traveler to scan available Hyatt locations worldwide, find the desired Hyatt location for their trip, and then search and secure the best car and air options to easily complete their
itinerary.
“Hyatt`s first priority is customer service and convenience.  The ability
to research availability and price for the three main components of travel - hotel, airline and car rental - is our goal regardless of how our
customer chooses to book their reservations. Any way that we can make the
trip planning process easier translates into happier travelers,” said
Joan Lowell, vice president electronic distribution, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
“Travel suppliers are continually looking for new ways to add value for
their customers, and the Hyatt site provides new convenience to its guests,”
said Jeff Palmer, senior vice president of strategic development at GetThere.
“It also enables Hyatt to build better relationships with its customers,
creating an opportunity for new personalized services.”
Hyatt plans to have the online booking capabilities operating in early
2001.
