American Express Global Business Travel is continuing to grow its technology and innovation platform with additional leadership appointments.
These including Evan Konwiser, who will take up the position of vice president, digital traveller and Christophe Tcheng to the role of vice president, core products and platform architecture.
Konwiser, who was most recently co-founder and chief operating officer of Lark Travel Group, and Tcheng, who joins GBT from Amadeus Technology Group, will work together with newly appointed chief technology officer, Philippe Chereque, on GBT’s overall technology growth strategy and development.
Konwiser, who is based in New York, will be responsible for traveller-facing technology, such as mobile and the online booking experience.
His background and insight into technology, innovation and emerging trends in the travel industry will add immense value to GBT’s customer experience strategy.
Tcheng, who is based in London, will be responsible for the strategy of GBT’s core platforms, such as Point of Sale, Digital Travel Record, Profile and more.
He will oversee the development and execution of these platforms, as well as data quality and protection, customer satisfaction, the integration of proprietary platforms with GBT’s international network and relationships with third-party technology vendors.
“I am delighted to bring in two individuals with such extensive experience and industry insight, as technology and innovation continue to be our priority focus for growth,” said Chereque.
“Evan’s passion for the traveller experience and ambition to improve the corporate travel platform and Christophe’s demonstrated success in managing large, international development teams and complex multi-year programs make me confident that we are building the right team to ensure GBT’s technologies address current and anticipated customer needs.”
