Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth meets HMS Queen Elizabeth

Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth luxury cruise liner met HMS Queen Elizabeth for the first time earlier. The rendezvous of the two ships, that share the same name and who were both christened by The Queen, took place in the Moray Firth off the coast of Scotland during Queen Elizabeth’s 13-night tour of the British Isles.

Hailed as one of the greatest jazz musicians in modern history, Herbie Hancock will headline the latest in a series of Cunard Blue Note jazz at sea-themed transatlantic crossings on board Queen Mary 2 next year. The multi Grammy Award winning star will perform three, 45 minute intimate shows in The Royal Court Theatre on board Queen Mary 2’s eight night crossing from Southampton to New York on August 1st-8th, 2016.

A crew member from Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 cruise ship is feared drowned after falling overboard. The Cunard flagship left Southampton on Tuesday on its way to Halifax, Canada. The crewman is believed to have fallen from the ship early on Saturday morning, Cunard said.

A passenger has died following a fall from Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth cruise ship. The passenger, who has not been named, fell from a tender while the ship was docked at Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The ship is on a 112-night world cruise which and left Southampton on January 10th.

Guests onboard will embark on a very special transatlantic crossing, featuring intimate jazz performances by the Blue Note 75th Anniversary All Star Band, Our Point of View, formed for the label’s milestone anniversary in 2014.
