Costa Smeralda to return to sailing this week
Costa Cruises will see a third ship return to operations this week, with sailing again from October 10th. She joins Costa Deliziosa and Costa Diadema in their European departures.

Cruz welcomes Costa Smeralda to Savona
Celebrations were held earlier in Savona for the naming ceremony of Costa Smeralda, Costa Cruises’ new flagship. The ship’s godmother and star of the event was international celebrity Penélope Cruz, who performed the ribbon-cutting duties with the traditional breaking of the bottle against the bow of the ship.

Passengers onboard Costa Smeralda have been released from quarantine after two Chinese guests tested negative for the coronavirus at the centre of a global outbreak.
Carnival Corporation to debut four ships in 2020
Carnival Corporation will launch four new cruise ships in 2020 across four of its global cruise line brands. On the slipway are Iona for P&O Cruises UK; Enchanted Princess for Princess Cruises; Mardi Gras for Carnival Cruise Line; and Costa Firenze for Italian brand Costa Cruises.
LNG-powered Costa Smeralda delivered in Turku, Finland
Costa Cruises has taken delivery of Costa Smeralda, the brand’s first ship powered by liquefied natural gas. The handover ceremony was held at the Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland, where the new flagship was built.
Costa Firenze floats out in Italy as brand grows China focus
Costa Cruises and Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri have celebrated the official float-out ceremony of Costa Firenze. The ship is the second for the brand designed and built specifically for the Chinese market.
