As international travel reaches a fever pitch this summer, Emirates’ latest analysis of global booking data* and search patterns reveals where travellers are dreaming of and escaping to in July and August, with a shift towards new cultural experiences and off-the-beaten-track locales. Flight searches for summer travel have climbed 7% compared to last year, with France leading the charge, experiencing a remarkable 35% increase in outbound travel searches, followed by Ireland, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Germany and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are also seeing strong momentum, highlighting robust travel intent across key markets. In 2025, a few breakout stars have emerged as the top summer destinations for Emirates, and they’re largely concentrated in the Far East, Indian Ocean and Europe.

Verra Mobility Corporation, a leading provider of smart mobility technology solutions, announced today a partnership with global car rental company Sixt to offer an electronic toll payment solution in Italy. Electronic tolling will be offered by Sixt for vehicles rented in six major Italian cities - Milano, Roma, Firenze, Venezia, Bergamo, and Bologna. Rental car drivers can easily opt-in to the program when renting a vehicle, which allows them to automatically pay tolls electronically, without having to wait in the toll booth line or having the appropriate amount of cash available.

Lucid Group, Inc, maker of the world's most advanced electric vehicles, set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge last weekend. Covering an incredible range of 1,205 kilometers (~ 749 miles) without charging, the Lucid Air Grand Touring1 conducted its record-breaking journey between St. Moritz, Switzerland and Munich, Germany, including alpine roads, highways, and secondary roads. Lucid exceeded the previous record for the longest journey of 1,045 kilometers set in June 2025 by 160 kilometers.
